Curtain wall facades in Cabo Negro
Hotel residence or office building in Cabo Negro: we study the glass facade for wind and marine air, from your specification or your project.
What we do in Cabo Negro
Fully glazed facades for offices, hotels and large halls: light, image and performance.
A curtain wall is a lightweight facade hung from the building’s structure, where glass and aluminium replace the wall. We study it, make it and install it for office buildings, hotels and halls, with dedicated systems (Exlabesa ECW-50).
What you gain
- A continuous envelope of glass and aluminium
- Thermal and acoustic insulation that is properly studied
- A design suited to wind and salt
Technical details— for professionals and the curious
- VEC / VEA
- Two facade techniques: bonded exterior glazing (VEC), with no visible fixings, and mechanically attached exterior glazing (VEA), held in place by profiles.
- Curtain wall
- A lightweight, non-load-bearing facade hung from the building’s structure.
- AEV rating
- Air permeability, water tightness, wind resistance (A-E-V in French): the three performances checked on a facade.

Why GMT Design in Cabo Negro
Cabo Negro is a headland on the Mediterranean coast, north of Martil, known for its villas and seafront residences. The site is exposed: wind, sea spray, strong sun. Joinery, glazing and balustrades there are chosen according to that exposure.
What we take into account in Cabo Negro
- Site exposed to wind and sea spray: calculated reinforcements
- Solar-control glazing for strong sun exposure
- Glass balustrades for terraces open to the coast
Frequently asked questions
How do I protect a large glass opening from sun and wind in Cabo Negro?
With solar-control glazing, a system with a thermal break (an insulating strip between the two faces of the frame) and sun protection (motorised roller shutters). The frame is reinforced according to the site’s exposure. We discuss it during the study.
What is the difference between VEC and VEA?
VEC (bonded exterior glazing) is fixed with an adhesive joint: no fixing is visible from outside. VEA (attached exterior glazing) is held mechanically by profiles. The choice depends on the look you want and on the project.
Can you work from our C.P.S.?
Yes. We analyse your specification line by line and offer a compliant proposal, technical data sheets included.
Do I need a curtain wall for a villa?
Not necessarily: for a villa, sliding doors or minimalist joinery are usually enough. Curtain walls are mainly for office buildings, hotels and large halls.
How does a glass facade cope with the marine climate in Cabo Negro?
Through a marine anti-corrosion treatment of the profiles (Qualicoat Seaside), A4 stainless fixings and reinforcements calculated for the winds of the area.
